Basement Gym 2.0
August 2018 - I’ve realized that the more equipment I cram into this small gym space, the less inclined I am to use it. Think I’ve been going at this all wrong. I need space to lift. Consolidate. Find a rack that allows for attachments and use them instead of all the dedicated machines. On your mark…
Taken before the transformation. Lots of dedicated machines. Very little floor space.
Too much, really.
I looked and looked, but the old rack just didn’t have extensions available. So I scored a Rogue RML-490C with the extra stabilizer bar, the Rogue flat bench, and delivery for $700. A Cadillac to my old Pontiac.
Why does everything I do come within a quarter inch of not fitting? thatswhatshesaid.gif
Cadillac, meet Pontiac. Pontiac, pack your things.
Beefy. Spacious. And strong as hell.
Oh yeah. That works.
A full tear-down of the old dedicated machines.
I would go on to sell the dip station, the hi/low pulley, the old rack, and the rogue bench for the $700 I spent on the RML-490C. A worthy trade-up.
Plate storage = Space saving.
This poor Mazda.
IS THIS RIGHT!?! AM I DOING THIS RIGHT?!?!
A solid lifting platform. Vurr nice.
Instead of the hi/low pulley, I snagged this Titan wall mounted pulley system. Smaller footprint, more heights available.
Then I snagged another for cable crossovers and superman curls.
Devised this neat little system to hold the pulley station feet down.
As long as I’m going colorful with the bumpers, the iron should get the same treatment.
Medicine balls up off the floor and into the joists.
Barbell rack to clear even more floor space.
Flipped the treadmill to make room for the hyper bench. The TV would be flipped shortly after.
Fin.
